26 Weeks Pregnant

How far along? 26 1/2 weeks! Soon I'll almost be "six months pregnant"!

Total weight gain/loss: 17 lbs. Eek! My belly (and the scale) have been on a definite growth spurt in these last few weeks

Maternity clothes? Loving them- so comfortable! I'm wearing maternity clothes almost exclusively now, except for a my camo uniform shirt and a few pairs of workout pants. A few weeks ago I even replaced my regular pajamas since the elastic waistband was getting tight. I now sleep in a nightgown for the first time since I was a little kid and couldn't be more comfortable.
As much as I love wearing maternity clothes, shopping for them is another matter. Last weekend I went on my first extensive shopping trip for maternity clothes (so far I've been relying on borrowed clothes from my cousins and online shopping). Maternity shopping isn't as much fun as regular shopping!

Stretch marks? Not yet

Best moment this week: Sitting with Jon every night after dinner with his hand on my belly feeling our little guy move around

Low point(s) of the week:
(1) Missing an appointment with our midwife after getting stuck behing an accident on the highway. The 35-40 minute drive to the hospital took 1 hr 20. By the time I arrived the clinic was closed and I had to play phone tag with the clinic for 4 days before getting a new appointment.
(2) Having to go to the bathroom 3 times in an hour after drinking 20 ounces of water. On the plus side, I learned my lesson about chugging water!

Miss anything? I am getting nervous about finishing my residency requirements before baby comes. I should be done with almost everything, but will be cutting it pretty close with my comprehensive care patient.

Movement: He's definitely been doing back-flips in my belly this week. His kicks and punches are also getting stronger. They're not strong enough that they hurt, but they are strong enough for Jon to feel

Food cravings: I've been craving spicy foods and Italian. Lately I've made buffalo chicken wraps, vegetable lasagna, and stuffed shells. All delicious, but not good choices when most foods give me heartburn.

Belly button in or out? This week it popped out! For a few weeks I had an "in between-ie" (somewhere between in and out) and this week it finally popped. You can definitely tell that it's popped, even under my shirts

Wedding rings on or off? Still on. I don't have too much swelling yet, except when I'm going on walks

Energy levels: This month they've been much higher. I attribute it to the fact that I've been consistently excising since the beginning of March. Jon and I have started walking again after hibernating all winter, and in the last week I've also taken a zumba and kickboxing class (making sure that I modify both, of course!).
I also took my first prenatal yoga class in a 2-month session. The 90-minute class is half yoga and half childbirth education. Meeting the other expectant moms was just as much fun as doing the yoga.

Looking forward to: Visiting family and friends in San Antonio this weekend for Easter and a baby shower :)
