BSA Troop 346 40th Anniversary

Jon has been involved with scouting since he was little, first as a cub scout, then as a boy scout, and now as an assistant scoutmaster. Troop 346 was founded in 1969, making it one of the oldest troops in San Antonio. The troop celebrated by inviting all its 107 eagle scouts as well as its current members to a dinner and court of honor. About 50 of the troops eagle scouts came to the event, and each one got to introduce themselves and talk about their favorite memories from scouting.

It was really neat to see that scouts from 1969-present all had similar scouting "favorites": camping out, dutch oven cooking, Canoe Base in the border water, Sea Base in south Texas, Philmont in New Mexico, and hiking in the Colorado Rockies. Many of the older scouts brought memorabilia from scouting of decades past, like old uniforms, photos, and flags.

Jon loves to tell stories about his boy scout adventures, so I enjoyed meeting many of his compadres from these escapades and hearing what they all all up to now.

I'm very proud of Jon for his accomplishments in scouting.
