At around 4pm yesterday during a little rainstorm our house lost power. This has happened a few times in the past year, so we didn't think too much of it and assumed power would be back soon. This was not the case.
For dinner we drove out to Boerne with Christina and Jim to eat German food at the mircobrewery/restuarant Dodging Duck. We got back to the house around 9pm and still no power! By that point our house was decidedly hot and stuffy. We waited it out for a few hours by walking around our subdivision talking to nieghbors sitting in lawnchairs in their driveways. By 10:30 we admitted defeat and drove to my dad's house to spend the night. There's no way we could have slept in our house with no AC and no fans, especially since the street behind our bedroom is pretty busy and ironically, the streetlight was working and shining brightly, ruling out opening the windows.
Jon and I spent the night in my old room but a new bed; my dad replaced the twin trundle bed I'd had since I was 3 with a comfortable new iron-frame double. It was the first time I'd slept at my dad's house since we've been married.
This morning we drove back home where the power was thankfully restored to the neighborhood and I couldn't be more appreciative of our AC!

indeed. we suffered the blackout over here as well. We drove over to sonic to get some slushes but ours came back around... 7?
That's crazy! I didn't know that there were power outages last night. How nice that your dad is so close by!
