I just found out that I was accepted into a one-week externship in pediatric dentistry at Baylor in Dallas. They are known to have a great pediatric dentistry program (one of the top 5 in the nation) so I'm very excited to check it out. One of the emphases in their program is treating kids who are medically compromised and those with special needs. The pedo program in San Antonio doesn't have a big focus on that, so it will be great learning experience. I'll even get to observe at the Children's Hospital!
I'll be in Dallas May 17-21, with Jon holding down the fort here. So far I've secured lodging for the last 2 nights with my good friend Heidi from college and her husband Drew, but am still looking for lodging for the first 3 nights. If you know of any good places to stay near the dental school please let me know.
