The First Images of Our Baby

On Friday we had our anatomy scan ultrasound. It was great to see our baby's features: the precious little hands and feet, nose, eyes, and ears. We were very happy to see that everything looks healthy.

A few weeks ago when I went to my first midwife appointment one of the first things she said was that she suspected my due date was about 2 weeks too late. She said that before even laying eyes on me! One of the reasons she wanted me to do the anatomy scan before the typical 20 weeks was to verify my due date. It turns out my midwife knows her stuff! Based on the ultrasound measurement my due date moved up 9 days to July 9. That puts me at 19 weeks along today.
We were hoping that we'd get to find out the baby's gender at the ultrasound. It turns out that our baby isn't shy at all. At least twice during the scan he proudly showed us his stuff! Yes, we're having a BOY!! We couldn't be more excited.
One thing that blows my mind is that this baby currently weighs about 9 oz and I've gained almost 9 pounds. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm on track and this weight is preparing my body for the baby.

I can already tell he is a good lookin' little guy!! Love that money shot! It's scary at first putting those pounds on, but it sounds like you are doing great. They are all out of love for your little boy!!
