My First Post

After thinking about it for a while, I finally decided to take the plunge and enter the world of blogging. This first post is going to be all about my family. I'm very fortunate to have a very tight-knit family, most of whom live nearby.

My husband Jon, on our wedding day, May 26, 2007. Jon and I met when we were in 6th grade at Jackson Middle School. It's great to be married to someone you've grown up with. Jon and I started dating during out senior year of high school when we were 17.

Jon's parents, Jim and Cheryl, and his younger sister Christina. Christina and I have a special connection: we are both named Christina Marie and we both have a talent for sleeping!

Christina with her boyfriend Jim. Jim and Christina are both seniors at Texas A&M. This past summer Christina interned at a large architecture firm in Quatar, where Jim parents were living.

Jon's cousin Amber, her husband Robbie, and their daughter Emerson.
September 2007, when Emerson was 11 months old.

My younger brother Brent, a senior at Texas State studying criminal justice. Brent is funny and laid-back and loves hunting and fishing.

My dad, Tom, and his 3-year-old black lab Ralfie. Like Brent my dad loves to be outdoors and has traveled to Alaska, New Mexico, and Kansas to go hunting and fishing.

My dad's mother Evelyn, affectionately known as Mema. Mema keeps busy with church activities, gardening, and visiting with her neighbors.
I wish I had just a fraction of the green thumb my grandmother does!

My dad's sister Nancy and her husband Bob live in Austin. They have three daughters: Katie and husband Jim, Megan and fiance Jason, and youngest Molly.

Easter 2008, the whole family minus Brent, Megan, and Jason.
