Spring has definitely sprung, and I'm so happy for it. Say all you want about how crazy the weather can be in Texas, but there is no denying that springtime in South Texas is beautiful.
Recipe for enjoying a beautiful Friday evening:
- Walk out of the clinic to the parking lot, passing by a fragrant Mountain Laurel in full bloom. Their purple blosoms smell like grape kool-aide
- Start up the patio grill. The evening was just warm enough to be outside without a sweater or jacket. While grill heats up munch on chips and locally made salsa
- Dinner menu: Chicken kebabs with onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms, marinated all day in a honey-soy sauce mixture that turns into a beautiful glaze on the grill
- Pair the kebabs with a bottle of rose from our favorite winery, Woodrose Winery in Fredericksburg
