SA Restaurant Wishlist

Since I'll only be living in San Antonio for the next 6 months or so before I leave for Commissioned Officer Training and then my residency, I thought I should get serious about my list of local restaurants I want to eat at before we move. Some are my local favorites I want to go to one more time, and others are restaurants I haven't even tried yet.

  • Dodging Duck in Boerne- They have the best potato salad I've ever had, plus Jon loves their microbrews and sausage. Good German food all around
  • Luke- This is John Besh's new restaurant on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The cuisine is called "gastropub" and is supposed to have a lot of French influences. I'd love to try this out.
  • Paesano's- This is my favorite Italian restaurant. Their classic appetizer "Shrimp Paesano" is to-die-for.
  • Scenic Loop Cafe- Has been voted one of the best places in SA for outdoor dining, as well as margaritas. I want to see what all the fuss is about.
  • Chris Madrid's- In my opinion Chris Madrid's has the city's best hamburgers. Their signature Tostada Burger features refried beans- genius! Even better, it's a great place to go for a cheap date.
  • La Gloria Icehouse- This casual place serves "Street Foods of Mexico". A few weeks ago Jon and I split a small taco plate that was unique and delicious; I'd love to go back for a few meals.
  • Cypress Grille- I haven't tried this upscale Boerne restaurant, but have heard lots of good things about it.
