Jackson's First Doctor's Visit

This morning Jackson had his first appointment with the pediatrician. One big advantage of living on base is that his pediatrician is just minutes from the house (and downstairs from the dental clinic for when I go back to work). It was our first time to leave the house since getting released from the hospital, and fortunately the outing went fairly smoothly.
All of my friends/co-workers with young kids LOVE the pediatrician at the clinic. Unfortunately, she had pink eye in both eyes today so she wasn't able to come in (I guess pink eye is an on-the-job hazard as a pediatrician!). The clinic didn't want to cancel the appointment so we got to see her technician and nurse, then they relayed all the information to her over the phone. We should be able to meet her at Jackson's 2-week appointment next Friday.
Jackson did great at his first appointment. One of the biggest components of this visit is a weight check. Jackson weighed 7lb8oz at birth, was 7lb2oz on Tuesday at discharge from the hospital, and today he already weights 7lb11oz! Our little guy loves milk!

First his pulse, oxygen saturation, and temperature were checked. Surprisingly, he didn't seem to mind the rectal temperature probe!

I had to take some photos to take advantage of the fact that I was dressed and had make-up on.

Can you tell that was hungry?
