Jackson now weighs 10 pounds. Since he weighed 7lb8oz at birth, that means he has already gained 1/3 of his birth weight. No one can say that our baby is underfed! A few of his onesies are already starting to get tight, so I've been having him wear those recently since he won't be in them much longer.
Eating:
Jackson is still eating every 2-3 hours during the day; at night he'll occasionally go 3-4 hours between feedings (those few extra minutes of sleep are glorious!).The biggest news in eating is that Jackson took his first bottle today. Jon fed him a bottle of pumped milk while I camped out at the neighbor's house. I was worried that he wouldn't take the bottle at first, but Jon assured me that our boy loves milk so much that he took the bottle like a champ, with just a few minutes of confusion at the beginning. While I'm happy that Jackson did so well, it also made me a little bit sad too because it was the first time someone other than me fed him since he was born. I think my sadness will disappear, though, when Jon takes over the midnight feeding.
Sleeping
Once Jackson is down for the night he does great, and usually stays down until the morning. But getting Jackson to go to bed is tough! The little guy will be yawning and cranky but he fights sleeps like no other. Jon calls him "fiercely independent"; I call him stubborn like his dad. During the day he will rarely nap unless he's getting held or getting snuggled. My favorite way to get Jackson to take his after-lunch nap is to snuggle up and nap with him.Playing
Most of Jackson's time not spent eating or sleeping is spent cuddling with Jon and me, but we also do tummy time (still not Jackson's favorite) and read stories.Sometimes, tummy time or story time turns into nap time
